About

I am a practical, methodical, efficient, and careful reader. I am a precise editor of copy, a clean proofreader, and an inquisitive collaborator. Editing keeps my mind vital and engaged in ways that feed my soul.

I’ve spent the past twenty-plus years collaborating with authors, publishers, nonprofits, playwrights, and other editors. A graduate of Brown University, I’ve been a director and dramaturg of new plays in New York City and editorial director of an international web communication network based in British Columbia, Canada, with offices in Colombia, South Africa, and Vermont. Along the way, I’ve worked with people and words from across the globe–on fiction, nonfiction, academic prose, theatrical plays, websites, advertising copy, and funding proposals.

Recent publishers and organizations I have worked with include: Chelsea Green Publishing, Perseus Books Group (Westview Press, Da Capo, Basic Books, and PublicAffairs), Macmillan Learning (W. H. Freeman and Co. Publishers, Worth Publishers, and Bedford/St. Martin’s), University Press of New England, and the Vermont Historical Society.

To read about my approach to editing, please see my philosophy. For more details of my experience, please see my resume.

While I have a deep passion for the coast of New England, and I’ve spent some incredible years in the cities of Providence, Boston, and New York, I’ve found home in the Upper Valley, nestled between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. In addition to freelance editing, I am also a Forrest Yoga yogi and a Level 2 Forrest Yoga teacher.

If you are interested in taking Forrest Yoga classes with me, see my schedule or contact me for a private lesson.
